Teach Access continues to grow and scale our efforts and is seeking your support. With more than 1 billion people globally who have a disability, companies across the world are struggling to keep up with rapidly changing technology and maintain their commitment to accessibility by assuring that their new hires have the requisite skill sets. If an individual with a disability cannot access a website, product, or service, they’re excluded from opportunities and limited in their ability to participate.  Today, we are collaborating with education, corporations, and disability advocacy organizations to address the critical need to enhance students’ understanding of digital accessibility as they learn to design, develop, and build new technologies with the needs of people with disabilities in mind.
  • We know a significant gap persists, that graduating students do not yet have the skills needed to build accessible technology.  The compelling need to teach about accessibility is presented in this concise document.
  • Technology job openings are rapidly growing, and the demand for skilled developers, programmers, and designers is enormous.
  • The need for accessibility skills continues to grow.
We can’t do this work without you. Check out our new corporate sponsorship options below! With your support, we can continue to close the skills gap! We will:
  • Provide more curriculum development grants to faculty who are ready to incorporate accessibility into their existing courses. Since 2018 Teach Access has given more than $240,000 in grants and reached more than 2,700 students!
  • < Continue to create free teaching and training materials and expand our open-source curriculum repository.
  • Grow the Teach Access Study Away program and Student Career Development Series , engaging students each academic year with our partners by introducing them to accessible design and development.
  • Create a continuous pipeline of skilled interns and employees for your organization, to help your team build products and services that are born accessible.
  • Expand our open-source Accessibility Skills Hiring Toolkit for HR departments and hiring managers to help you improve your internal processes. We’re currently working on a partnership with Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) to add Teach Access information on their website.
Corporations of all sizes and across all industries are looking to Teach Access for support. You can view a list of our supporters here and help us continue to grow. Help us reach 1 million students by 2030 and ensure future designers, developers, and programmers have the needed skills to allow everyone equal access to technologies.
